Keynote Speaker

Jay Williams, Western Regional Director, Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole
One of the challenges in the field of criminal justice is turning research into practice. Jay Williams, as the Western Regional Director for the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole, has first-hand knowledge of the barriers to, and ease of, implementing evidence based programming. With the PA Board of Probation and Parole utilizing a new approach to offender supervision, the Effective Practices in Community Supervision (EPICS) program, it is working to turn evidence based programming into policy. Mr. Williams will share his experiences with implementing EPICS and other evidence based programs in Pennsylvania’s probation and parole system.
